Fifth Element Coffee

FEC is a coffee shop based out of Yulee, Florida that lives and breathes cold brew. So much so that they introduced it as the Fifth Element of life. The husband and wife duo trusted Origin to create an extensive brand identity that felt raw, mysterious but refined. They wanted to make sure that the product could be print on a multitude of products while being budget-friendly.

Brewing a Fresh Logo

The Fifth Element Coffee logo is raw, intriguing and refined. Sleek and simple icons are paired with gritty, textured linework to create a unique balance of modern and earthy aesthetics. The subtle textures give the overall minimal design a feeling of grit, much like grounded coffee beans. The four elements surround the roman numeral “5”, which also represents the fifth element of life. The numeral five here can also be reminiscent of the coffee steeping process of a french press.

Crafting the Perfect Tagline

Local. Fresh. Vital. These aren’t just descriptive words, but a promise. A promise that FEC will always be locally brewed, freshly packaged and packed with energy to kick off any coffee connoisseur’s daily routine.

Packaging

Like many startups, FEC needed cost-effective solutions for the packaging that they could do in-house, but in large batches. Origin created matte black partial wraps and cap stickers so that the client would still be able to see the product through the bottle, while still providing an elevated, branded experience. The flavors are in a periodic element table treatment, further tying into the elemental theme.

The hangtags, bottle wraps and roasted coffee bags all have personalization options to conserve money on printing. There are options to fill in roast dates, batch numbers and types of blends.

The folks at Fifth Element have welcomed a baby boy into the family and have currently put their coffee quest on hold, but Yulee is looking forward to fresh local coffee once again!
